It has four floors, a spiral staircase, an unusually complete Tudor toilet and many masons’ marks. WebFishergate Postern Tower is a 14th Century archway, with a 16th Century tower. The original medieval tower would have stood on the banks of the River Foss, the current tower is its replacement. The roof dates from the 17th Century. WebFishergate Postern Tower will be open from 10am to 4pm on Easter Saturday 8th April, and again on Saturday 15th April. The Sheriffs Army annual walk of the walls will take place on Saturday 15th April and they plan to call in at Fishergate Postern Tower around 2.30 pm to 3.00pm.
